How to Add Duplicate Audit Keywords in ProManage?

If you're concerned about losing online visibility due to duplicate Google Business Profile (GBP) listings, the Duplicate Audit feature in ProManage is built just for you. By enabling this feature and adding the right keywords, you can detect listings that impersonate or overlap with your business and take corrective action.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to enable and configure Duplicate Audit Keywords effectively.

Step 1: Enable Duplicate Audit from Settings

  1. Go to your ProManage Dashboard.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Navigate to the "Duplicate Audit" section.
  4. For best results, select “Custom Keywords”.
  5. Add up to 3 keywords for which your listings appear in the search result/map results page.
  6. Click “Save” for running the duplicate audit’s for the added keywords.

Custom Keywords

  1. Allows you to add up to 3 custom keywords.
  2. Keywords should not include special characters.
  3. ProManage will scan the web for duplicate listings using these keywords to match potentially infringing GBPs.

Step 2: Guidelines for Adding Keywords

When using the Custom Keywords option, it’s important to select search terms that reflect how your target customers typically find your business online.

Here are a few tips:

  1. Think like a customer: What would someone search on Google to find your business?
  2. Choose keywords that your GBP listings appear for, and which may also bring up lookalike listings.
  3. Avoid using brand-internal jargon or campaign terms that external users wouldn't search for.

You can add up to 3 keywords, and we'll run duplicate audits for each keyword once per quarter to identify any unauthorized or confusingly similar listings appearing on Google Searches.

Example: If you own a chain of car service centers called "AutoFix Garage," a keyword like “Autofix”, “Garage” etc might help detect fake or copycat listings using similar names to divert your traffic.

Why This Matters

Duplicate listings on Google can steal your online traffic, confuse potential customers, and dilute your brand visibility. By enabling Duplicate Audits and adding smart keywords, you’re taking an essential step toward protecting your local SEO efforts and maintaining control over your digital presence and reduce potential fraud on the name of your business.
